The Boswell Pioneers rolled over cross-town rival Saginaw High in the annual Battle for the Wagon Wheel at Pioneer stadium. When the smoke cleared the Pioneers walked away with their 11th straight wagon wheel trophy, 65 - 12. It was all Boswell from start to finish. Corner-back John Diaz collected an interception on the Rough Riders first possession of the game. Then Pioneer Toby Fuller scored on a fake field goal around the left end and the rout was on. On Saginaw's next possession the Boswell defense forced a 3 and out. An errant snap on 4th down sailed out of the back of the end zone to give Boswell a 9 - 0 lead. Cody Mayberry danced along the sideline for another Pioneer score in the next series. Saginaw would answer on a long pass from  Kameron Williams to Blaine Taylor. It would be the lone highlight for Saginaw. Brandon Chatman tiptoed down the sideline for a 21 yard td in front of the home crowd to push the Boswell lead to 23-6. Roy Rush blocked a Rough Rider punt and then scooped up the loose ball in the end zone for 6 more. Brayden Thomas would find Chatman on a toe dragging pass in the back of the end zone to make the Pioneer lead 37 - 6 with 4:57 left in the half. In the second half Mayberry scooted through defenders for a 22 yard score. Thomas found Deontae Freeman on a 39 yard pass during Boswell's next scoring drive and the Pioneers led comfortably, 51 - 6. Back up quarterback Chance Chandler hooked up with Zeke McCray for a late score. Alex Thammavong capped off the night with a 26 yard td run. The Pioneers will face the Azle Hornets in the Battle for the Lake this Friday night.
