Pioneer Pride Fact
John Shephard is considered by many to be the best football player "athlete" in Boswell history. A tenacious hitter and a lover of the game, John continued the dominance of the linebacker position with over 250 tackles in his three year career. Shepherd anchored a defense, which held opponents to 108 yards rushing per game. He was named All State First Team Linebacker providing BOS with the distinction of having consecutive players named to this position for two years. His endurance proved just as incredible as he was also named First Team All District as offensive tackle for the second year. Gary Easley has often been compared with former Texas Longhorn great James Street with his smooth ball handling, he ran the wishbone offense to perfection as he rushed for nearly 700 yards.
